If your body starts to accumulate fat in your abdomen you are likely to be affected by type 2 diabetes than when your body stores the fat in your thighs or hips. Make sure that you are not accumulating fat in your abdomen. Try to do the necessary exercises and reduce the fat content in your body.

Inactivity of the body:

If you are inactive for most parts of the day, you are likely to get diabetes. You need to move around and do some work to stay fit. When you do physical activity, you will be able to maintain the fat content, and you will use up all the glucose stored in your body.

Family history:

Type 2 diabetes is a genetic disease which means if your parents or grandparents have diabetes you are likely to have diabetes too. But you can control it by controlling your lifestyle. You don’t need to panic if your family has diabetes; all you need to do is increase your physical activity and consume healthy food. When you start leading a healthy lifestyle, you will be able to fight diabetes effectively.

Gestational diabetes:

If you had gestational diabetes, you are likely to have type 2 diabetes at a later stage. If your baby weighs more than 4 kgs, you might tend to develop diabetes.

Age:

The risk of type 2 diabetes increases as you grow older. Especially after the age of 45 people tend to exercise less and have reduced physical activities.
